2016 GCSE Exams - amongst our best ever results!

2016 has been an exceptional year for GCSE exam results, amongst our best results ever, showing a further increase on last year in every measure.
We are delighted to announce that 2016 has been an exceptional year for exam results at Upton by Chester High School, amongst our best results ever, showing a further increase on last year in every measure.
Following on from our excellent A level results last week, which saw 50% of our students achieving the top A* and B grades, our GCSE results are some of the best we have ever had.
Seeing stars! 27 of our students gained an amazing 282 A* and A grades between them, a truly outstanding achievement.
Our English and Maths results have risen yet again, bucking the falling trend nationally and at 80% and 76% respectively they are significantly higher than the national average. In Science, 88% of our students gained 2 or more A*-C grades and 78% of our students achieved 5 or more A*-C GCSEs.
Headteacher Paula Dixon said, ‘I am extremely pleased with our results which are positive in every measure. Our students have done us proud! In addition to the outstanding headline figures our students have made significant progress compared to the national picture. This is a reflection of all their hard work, the dedication and commitment of our staff and the support from their families. My congratulations to them all!’
