The qualification is suitable for those learners wishing to go to University to study a sport related degree, such as sport science, sport therapy, sports business, teaching or coaching, or for those learners who wish to work within the wider world of sport.  

Although in collaboration with the football college, this doesn’t mean you have to want to play football specifically.  However, those that do play football will spend each afternoon at the local Everton Football College hub, at Vauxhall Sports Ground in Eastham. Here learners will receive high quality coaching from FA qualified coaches, and have the opportunity to play in local and national league and cup games.

The study programme will consist of taught lessons that will take place in the morning on our school site then in the afternoon learners will either attend sports coaching sessions, complete independent study, take part in specific work experience or complete individual gym training programmes. Those with an interest in playing sport and those with an interest in auxiliary sporting roles such sports journalism, photography, analytics and coaching are equally encouraged to apply. 

The entry requirements for the course are that learners need GCSE grade 4 and above in 5 subjects to include English, and preferably maths. When applying for this course as it is the equivalent of 3 A Levels, therefore please ensure you choose Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport for each of the 3 subject options.
