Tuition Fund
The 16-19 tuition fund has been extended to include the academic year of 2021/ 22. This funding is aimed to overcome the disruption caused by the lockdown due to Covid-19. The funding is provided to support those learners who have not achieved a Grade 5 in Maths and/ or English by the time they are 16.
The guidance indicates that students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and/or those who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) will also be eligible for support via this Fund. Although the funding has been allocated to support students who have not achieved a grade 5 in English and/or Mathematics by the age of 16, the support does not have to be used solely for English and Mathematics tuition.
We are using the funding to support our learners through:
- one to one/ small group tuition outside of their classroom lessons. These extra sessions will ideally be delivered by our own team who know our learners best, where this is not possible, we will use external practitioners. These will be available for learners across all subject areas.
- ensure learners have access to support where and when required.
