Year 12 Politics visit to London

The trip took in a tour of Parliament, the Supreme Court and a Rebel walking tour.

During the tour of Parliament, the learners shared the Commons chamber with a visiting Leo Varadkar, former Taoiseach of Ireland. In the Supreme Court, they sat in the seat used by Lady Hale when the prorogation of Parliament was declared unlawful in 2019. The walking tour took them to some of the key scenes of Suffragette agitation and action. They also got to interview an unsuspecting Gavin Williamson, former Education Secretary, at Euston station, fresh from swearing his oath of allegiance for the new Parliament.
