Year 10
Year 10: Eduqas GCSE Drama
Year 10 Drama learners have five, 1-hour lessons of Drama over the fortnightly timetable. Year 10 is about experiencing the demands of the full Eduqas assessment process and closely mirrors what learners will do in Y11. Learners continue to develop their understanding of the Component 3 Set text, expand their understanding of Theatre Practitioners such as Augusto Boal, Stephen Berkoff and Antonin Artaud. Learners also look at Theatre Companies such as Splendid Productions and Kneehigh Theatre Company. Learners will decide if they are studying Acting Option or Technical Theatre Option by April of Year 10.
Learners begin to hone their analytical writing skills through Live Theatre Reviews and practice questions from the Component 3 Set text question based on Malorie Blackman’s, Nought and Crosses.
Learners engage in termly performances to an audience based on Devising scenes, Scripted scenes and their Component 3 Set Text. Learners fully utilise online streaming platforms such as National Theatre Live and Digital Theatre Plus. Learners will also have the opportunity to experience Live Theatre at a varied selection of Theatres.
