Year 11: Eduqas GCSE Drama

Year 11 Drama learners have five, 1-hour lessons of Drama over the fortnightly timetable. Learners will follow the Acting Option or the Technical Theatre Option.

Learners complete the Component 1 Devising Theatre section worth 40% of the entire GCSE between September and December of Y11. Pupils perform these scenes to a selected audience in December of Y11 and complete the evaluation and Creative Log shortly after their final performance.

Learners start their Component 2 Performing from a Text worth 20% in the December of Y11. Learners are then directed by their teacher ready for an external assessment performance with a visiting Eduqas examiner in March of Year 11.

Learners will continuously work on their Component 3 Interpreting Theatre throughout Year 11 and this will include intervention sessions when required. Learners will complete numerous Past Papers under exam conditions as they prepare for the written assessment worth 40% of the entire GCSE.
