Work Experience
Learners undertake a week of work experience in Years 10 and 12.
Here is some feedback from a Year 12 learner who has just completed their placement:
For my work experience, I worked at one of the top 5 biggest electrical engineering companies in the world with offices and factories in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. The placement was one week long and I learned a lot of skills involving physics and computer science. I worked alongside some of the best electrical engineers in the country and they were all very friendly. Every day I was challenged with new areas of their work life such as modelling engineering plans; using BIM software to find collisions in construction projects; and labelling nomenclature for the National grid. My work experience is also a great reference for me when it comes to applying for university. Work experience is not only great for learning new skills but also to make connections to the industry you want to work in.
