Key Stage 3
Key stage 3 refers to Year 7, 8 and 9. Our high-quality curriculum is well planned and sequenced to ensure our learners here at Upton-by-Chester High school reach their potential and achieve at a high level. Through our maximising success model of learning and teaching, we deliver lessons that ensure learning inspires and captivates learners' creativity and imagination. We place high expectations for learners to engage effectively in their own learning. Our aim is to nurture pupils to become engaged and informed citizens. By the end of Key Stage 3 they will read books for pleasure and understand the basic scientific concepts of the world around them. They will appreciate the practical uses of maths in everyday life and know the enjoyment of learning a different language. In essence they will develop a love of learning, broad knowledge and a sense of creativity that will prepare them for their next steps in learning and their life beyond.
